Hey Tomorrow

Hey Tomorrow is a collaborative initiative driven by seasoned wine industry and hospitality professionals— Shane Barrett, Sacha Imrie, Andrew Fisk, Jesse Gerner, Kelly O’Loghlen, and Sam Plunkett.

Hey Tomorrow’s mission is to redefine the perception of Australian cask wine while addressing the environmental and operational challenges associated with traditional packaging methods. The cask, a proud Australian innovation created by Thomas Angove in the 1960s, was originally designed to minimise waste and maintain wine freshness for weeks after opening through its air-free dispensing system.

Today, the bag-in-box format remains an outstanding solution, offering numerous advantages. It reduces product waste, consumes significantly less energy than glass production, and is more space and weight efficient for shipping and storage, resulting in an 8-10 times lower carbon footprint compared to glass bottles. These efficiencies not only benefit the environment but also translate into cost savings, allowing us to offer premium wine at exceptional value. With the wine industry’s largest climate impact stemming from the production and transport of heavy glass bottles, we believe a shift toward cask wine where possible is a meaningful step toward sustainability.

Operating from Seymour, Victoria, Hey Tomorrow collaborates with its in-house winemaker, Sam Plunkett, along with Australia’s most forward thinking winemakers, to offer an exciting, evolving selection of premium quality wines. At Hey Tomorrow, the team is committed to making wine more sustainable without compromising on value or quality.

Hey Tomorrow is drastically reducing carbon emissions in the packaging and distribution of Australian wine, while dedicating 50% of profits to supporting Australian Farmers to reduce emissions and drawdown carbon, via the Carbon Farming Foundations DIY carbon farming programs.
