Fruit for this Riesling is sourced from the Damsteep Vineyard which is located in the north east of Waipara Valley at the foot of the Omihi saddle. A steep hillside vineyard planted in 1999 on clay and limestone rich soils at a density of 5000 vines per hectare. White peach, kaffir lime leaf, chalkboard & finely ground ginger on the nose. Dense weight with chalky, spirited acidity. Early season apricots, honeysuckle, creamy clay and hints of black current leaf. Driving persistance, dry and savoury.
